Irish artist John Spencer, Dublin

I'm retired and live in Sandycove, Co. Dublin. Painting has been a hobby I've dabbled in occasionally over the years. Only relatively recently have I had the opportunity to devote more time to it.

As a viewer, my favourite style is probably Impressionism. As a painter, I'm inspired to try many different styles and especially enjoy interpreting works of famous artists. These 'homages' help me try techniques and effects I otherwise might not consider. My hope is that the results are atmospheric and elicit satisfying emotional responses.
