Irish artist Lily O'Rourke, Waterford and Carlow


Subjects such as landscapes, seascapes, woodlands, gardens and flowers feature in my work and are often painted in oils, watercolour, pastel and other media. As an artist I like to experiment with material and techniques and paint things personal to me.

I have been painting, drawing and exhibiting for many years and over the years I have explored different media and techniques. Painting the countryside and locations I have visited and with a great love of nature I like to portray the environment and landscape around me.

In 2001 I became a selected full member of the Pastel Society of Ireland and I am also a member of the Barrow Valley Group of Painters, Athy Art Group and Art Bank Bunclody and exhibit with them regularly. I exhibit ever June in a solo exhibition during the Carlow Arts Fringe Festival and in a group exhibition in Dunlavin Arts Festival. I have also exhibited many times in the Kilkenny Arts Festival Fringe and I tutored art classes and tutored with community groups for the V.E.C. in Carlow, Kildare and Kilkenny.

I have lived and worked most of my life in Carlow but was born in Dungarvan Co.Waterford which gives me a great love of the sea and coastline.
